Our office works using 2 ways:

  • 1] We export the car to you;

  • 2] You will be the exporter, but we help you to have permission in Brazil. You will export the cars using your name and your documents. We will register you as an exporter in Brazil, you will have our help in all logistics to bring the car to Transit Institute to get new documents and contract the Freight Company to pick up the car and delivery to the Port that you choose.

Costs to check a car:

If the car is very close to our office, the visit is free, but if the car is far away then we have a cost sheet that changes the value depending on the distance; It's the same expense you would have if you were here, see the "go to page download: Costs to check cars.pdf" file on the webpage.

Import 1 or 2 cars?
do you need parts? inside the car there is a lot of space!

-Tip: to import 2 cars the fees, container, freight and Port expenses are almost the same to import 1 car.
Normally the profit of the 2nd car, cheap car, is sufficient to pay all the expenses that you will have.

- Parts: Enjoy the space inside the cars: All the time we export cars with parts inside, parts in Brazil are very cheap.

- Original cars:
We will find an excellent car, cheap, in some little farm lost in the center of Brazil.

It is important that cars are in places that never rain.

You will see a dirty car but minimal rust and minimum car crash because little cities do not have traffic and parking lot problems.

- Restored cars:
We will find these cars in the cities around Sao Paulo city, where our office is located.

Is necessary be careful, we need to check the restoration in person.

If the workshop used "Car body filler", under temperature -10oC (-14oF) plastic and stainless steel will separate.

Importing, declaring, details on the car

TÜV  "details check list"

The car needs to work and run perfectly, of course, but there are small details that must be done.

the TÜV and H-registration clearance:

. change all the lights, front and rear, only one factory in Brazil offers the correct lights indicator;

. the tires you will need install new in Germany, countries with different weather use rubber and different design;

. check the alignment of the doors;

. change the tire rims;

. install the original fuel hose (if it's transparent, we will replace it);

. battery attached properly;

. change hoses and cables and fixed properly;

. check the pressure in the brake system;

. wheel alignment (an alignment corrects the angles of the tires so that they come into contact with the road in just the right way);

. tire balance (a tire balance corrects the weight imbalance on your tire and wheel assemblies);

. chock absorber needs to be new.

"COLLECTOR'S ITEMS" SAVE POWERFUL STEERING
     Since 2014 it has been possible, under certain conditions, not to pay any customs duties for imported classic cars.

"Collection item": No duty, seven percent tax
     Under certain conditions, vintage cars are defined as collection items when they are imported into the EU. That means: no customs duties and a reduced import tax rate of seven percent. The criteria for customs tariff 9705 are set out in the Combined Nomenclature of the EU in Chapter 97 - the latest legal text can be found in the Official Journal of the EU: L273 / 677, Chapter 97
*. Accordingly, the following three prerequisites are required for classification as a collector's item:

  • The vehicle must be in its original condition, without any major changes or modifications;

  • It must be at least 30 years old (unless it was used in a historical event or has achieved significant success as a racing car);

  • The vehicle model may no longer be manufactured.

It is important that the importer declares his vehicle as a "collector's item when declaring it".

You can receive the cars at your home or you can hire all services:

The cargo and freight company can do delivery in your home, the name of this system is DDP. This is the most expensive way to receive a car, the reason is: all companies involved in this delivery will have their prices increased, this is the price that you will pay to don't have any work. 

The most economical way to receive your cars is:
 

  • we hire the shipping company to make the delivery of the car at the port that you choose and you pay to them;

  • you hire a Custom Broker, to show the documents to the customs and pay taxes

Search on the internet like this example:  "custom broker Genoa Port" 

(use the name of the port closest to your city);

  • you hire a recovery truck to pick up the car in the Port and bring to your home, the Custom Broker will offer this service for you.

To receive new documents, necessary for the export, the car must do the Car Inspection; 

Another inspection is necessary a few days before the car goes to the Port of Santos and boards the ship.

Where are the VW Bus T1 hidden in Brazil

          Decades ago, coffee producing farms used Bus T1 to bring people to harvest coffee and took those people back to the city at the end of the day.

 

          Today the way of harvesting coffee has changed, but in those cities, when the cars got old, they were sold to small farms.

 

          This is the old map of Brazil, showing the cities where these large coffee farms were decades ago.

Choosing a Car to Restore

For restoration, we advise you to choose a VW Bus until 1967. You will spend the same money to restore any car, the color doesn't matter you will choose the color(s).

Because the VW Bus Split Window (2 windows in front) model was manufactured in Germany until 1967 after that was made the Bay Window model (1 window in front). But in Brazil, the VW Bus Split Window model was manufactured up to 1975.
